4月26日是第六个世界知识产权日，正如商务部部长薄熙来在不久前国新办举行的新闻发布会上所言，保护知识产权已逐渐上升为我们的基本国策，政府对网络侵权、网络盗版行为的打击力度也将逐步加大。

报道中的piracy是“盗版”，infringement则是“侵权”，而“网络侵权”可以表示为internet infringement。顾名思义，“网络侵权”就是通过互联网从事侵犯他人权利的行为。不同于一般的民事侵权，网络侵权除侵犯他人隐私权外，也包括侵犯知识产权，如网络用户在复制他人作品时，必须取得著作权人的授权。

Infringement来源于动词infringe（违背，侵犯），如：infringe a contract（违反合同）；infringe an oath（违背誓言）；infringe a patent（侵犯专利权）。常与infringement搭配的词组有：copyright infringement（版权侵犯）；patent infringement（专利侵权）。
