1. an acquired taste

acquire的意思是取得，获得；购得；学到，an acquired taste表示后天养成的嗜好；假以时日并多次尝试而喜欢上的东西。形容某人的话，可能表示某人不是第一眼就会喜欢的类型吧。

Olives are an acquired taste.橄榄这种东西吃得多就爱吃了。

2. melt away

melt away有这两个意思：①逐渐消失；逐渐散去

As the police sirens were heard, the crowd started to melt away.警笛一响，人群就开始散开了。

②（强烈的情绪）变弱，消失

Her anger melted away when she read the letter.读到信时，她的怒火慢慢消失了。

谢尔顿的爸爸听说对方在减肥，夸张的来了一句“you are melting away“，当然不是说人渐渐消失了，只是幽默地说对方会变瘦啦！

3. sixth sense

sixth sense就是第六感，直觉。

A sixth sense told me that the train was going to crash.直觉告诉我这列火车要撞车。
